Privacy Policy
MyDay is a personal organiser for tasks, habits, money, notes, files and a private journal. It is built so that your information stays with you: on your own devices and, if you choose to sign in with Google, in your own Google Drive. There is no MyDay server, no advertising and no tracking. The developer of MyDay cannot see your data.
1. What MyDay stores
You decide what to put in the app. It can include:
- tasks and reminders, notes, habits and their daily check-ins;
- money entries (amounts, categories, notes, optional receipts), budgets and recurring entries;
- journal entries, which may contain text, photos, videos, voice recordings, handwriting and a place name or location you choose to add;
- files you add to the file vault;
- your name or nickname, and settings such as theme and currency;
- a PIN (stored only as a salted hash, never the PIN itself) and the answer to your security question (also stored only as a hash).
All of this is stored on your device. MyDay does not send it to the developer or to any server run by the developer.
2. Signing in with Google
On Android, MyDay asks you to sign in with Google. From Google we receive your email address, name and Google account ID. We use them to show who is signed in and to find your saved data in your own Drive. We do not receive your Google password.
MyDay asks Google for only these permissions:
- Drive “app data” (drive.appdata): lets MyDay keep a hidden folder in your Google Drive that only MyDay can open. It holds a copy of your MyDay data, so you can restore it on another phone by signing in with the same account. Photos, voice notes and other files up to 10 MB are stored there too; larger files stay on the device they were made on.
- Drive “files created by this app” (drive.file): lets MyDay create and update one spreadsheet if you turn on the optional Google Sheets copy. MyDay cannot see or change any other file in your Drive.
- Your basic profile (email, name, OpenID) to identify the account.
This data goes from your device to your Google account. It does not pass through any server of ours. Google handles it under its own Privacy Policy. Google encrypts Drive data in transit and at rest, but the copy in Drive is not end-to-end encrypted, so anyone who can sign in to your Google account could restore it.
3. Google Sheets copy (optional, off until you turn it on)
In Settings you can choose to mirror parts of your data (money, tasks, habits, notes, and optionally your journal text) to a spreadsheet named “MyDay” in your Google Drive. It is a one-way copy: edits made in the spreadsheet do not come back into MyDay. The journal is not included unless you tick it, and photos, videos and voice notes are never uploaded to the spreadsheet. A spreadsheet is not protected by your MyDay PIN; anyone with access to your Google account can open it.
4. Syncing between your own devices
Besides Google Drive, MyDay can sync your phone and computer directly over your home Wi-Fi. This connection goes straight between your devices, is encrypted, and does not use the internet.
5. Permissions the app may ask for
- Notifications and alarms: to show reminders at the time you choose.
- Microphone: only when you record a voice note in the journal.
- Camera and photos: only when you add a photo or video to an entry, a note or a receipt.
- Location: only if you tap “Location” in a journal entry. It is stored with that entry and, like the rest, stays on your device and in your Drive.
- Fingerprint: if you turn it on, Android checks your fingerprint. MyDay never receives or stores fingerprint data.
- Local network: to find your own computer for Wi-Fi sync.
6. What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent or share your data.
- We do not show advertising and we do not use analytics, tracking or advertising identifiers.
- We do not use your data to train AI models, and we do not read it.
MyDay’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
7. Keeping and deleting your data
- On your device: your data stays until you delete it or uninstall MyDay.
- In Google Drive: in the app, open Settings → Account → Delete my cloud data. This erases the copy in your Drive, signs you out and clears the device. You can also remove it from Google: see how to delete your data.
- The Google Sheet: it belongs to you. Delete it in Google Drive whenever you like.
- Backups: a backup file you save yourself (Settings → Data) is yours to keep or delete.
Because the developer holds none of your data, there is nothing on our side to delete or export. If you have a question, write to the address below.
8. Security
MyDay can be locked with a PIN (and a fingerprint, if you wish). The PIN protects the app on the device; it is not an encryption key for your Google Drive copy. Wi-Fi sync is encrypted. Please keep your Google account secure with a strong password and 2-step verification.
9. Children
MyDay is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will appear on this page with a new “last updated” date. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the app’s update notes.
